Mum was delighted at the prospect of a shopping trip to Reading and with a set itinerary she accompanied me to town in search of a sleeping bag, Tilley Hat and trousers. I was absolutely amazed to find that this shopping trip was successful! I left for home more than satisfied, Mum having found the bargain of the day - a pair of packable North Face navy shorts which weigh little more than a feather - that fit a treat and were half price!
I made a special effort of wearing my Tilley Hat to Twyford station to collect Ian later that evening having returned from a weekend in Newcastle.
