After a delicious breakfast, which was nice to enjoy real food again after the amount of airline food we had become accustomed to again recently, we went straight out to begin our cyber cafe experience. Knowing that our journals would take some considerable time to upload to the website we began at 11:30 and through the day managed to accumulate 10 hours each at the terminals. We left the cyber cafe after 01:00, it being convenient and staying open 24 hours a day for an hourly rate of NZD 2. We had two breaks during the day, one for lunch where we went searching for dive shops and made it as far as the harbour and one for dinner where we stretched as far as the Korean restaurant next door to the cyber cafe. I enjoyed my barbecued chicken which was very hot but Ian wasn't satisfied with his cold elastic noodles. The whole street appears to be of Korean or Japanese origin, including the proprietor of the cyber cafe that we use around the corner from the youth hostel.
Anyway we feel that we didn't really make much progress and are barely a quarter of the way through our task. We will be staying in Auckland for a couple more nights at least to shift some more of the backlog. Now we just need to find some more accommodation.
We struggled to get back into the hostel after 01:00. The scurity guard had fallen asleep out of sight and it took half an hour to attract his attention...
Now for some rest, despite our restlessness, before we rise to type another day!
