A lazy breakfast whereby Ian was in his element, pancakes with chocolate sauce were on offer, which naturally he couldn't resist.
We strolled around the island capturing photographs of birds and enjoying the early morning sunshine, it was baking hot at 09:30!
I took to the sun lounger for the obligatory sun worshipper moment. I could only bear the intense sun for an hour, but it was 32 degrees! Ian had swam out to the coral reef and was trying to snorkel with nothing more than his goggles...
We had agreed to skip lunch on the basis that it would cost us a fortune but noted that we could get some fresh fruit for USD 3. That would suit us fine so we waiting patiently until 15:00 then took to the coffee bar. As we perused the menu it dawned on us that a portion of fresh fruit from a given selection might actually mean just that and we would receive a banana or an apple as opposed to a selection of each, so Ian ordered a burger and chips and I ordered a portion of fresh fruit to which I was immediately questioned which fruit I would like. Darn. Luckily for me the portion size was fairly generous and I was pleased to receive half of Ian's dinner to precede what turned into a refreshing dessert of fresh fruit. I made some comment about Ian ordering an expensive meal and he mumbled something about us 'averaging out' which made me chuckle to myself thinking of very fond memories of Italy in 1990...
Another dip in the ocean while the sun set, watching the tiny glass fish swim synchronisingly in their large shoal by the shore like bees swarming in the sky.
It was fantastic to have a day on an island without rainfall! We reminisced about Africa over dinner as I often remark to Ian how much I miss it. I have such fond memories.
