More snorkelling was on the agenda today. We began by going around the inner house reef in the opposite direction to yesterday, then we ventured out to the outer house reef. In the inner reef we saw much the same as yesterday in the way of aquatic life but also saw shrimp gobies, a large giant moray eel and sea urchins. At the outer reef I saw a huge titan triggerfish, black footed clown fish, which are unique to the Maldives, clams and rock cod. It was a wonderful reef and it would be fantastic to dive there. We experienced some current so made for the nearest channel back into the inner reef whereby we exited the water and made for lunch.
In the afternoon the ocean invited us back and I spent a short while snorkelling around the shoreline where I saw another saddled pufferfish. It began to rain again and being so overcast I cooled down quickly so, after watching some shrimp gobies for a while and sneaking up on a grey heron perched on some stones, I quit for the day and left Ian to it.
Another evening stroll to the jetty followed dinner to watch sharkey again.
