Eggs for breakfast! What a treat! It was a pity it was raining and overcast so we couldn't see down into the Ngorongoro Crater. Still the sunrise in between the clouds was quite pretty.
We ventured out on another game drive before lunch in the crater. The descent road is quite steep- I wouldn't like to experience it in the rainy season!
There were plenty of zebras and wildebeests in the crater but to be honest it too was a disappointing drive to me. There were plenty of birds, such as the crown crested cranes, bustards and the occasional silver and gold back jackals and hyenas but no rhinoceroses. I had set my heart on seeing rhinoceroses in the crater to complete our sighting of the big five but sadly it was not our destiny and we left for lunch feeling disillusioned.
The drive back to Arusha was uncomfortable and I was very glad to be back at Masai camp, even in the rain, for our final night spent under canvas.
