In the meanwhile the assimilating arm of the law appeared at about 9:30 this morning to gather evidence of law breakers. The background being that the garage was broken into and I discover that more stuff has been nicked as and when I want to use it. Nothing is especially valuable but it builds up over time. My patience wore out when I wanted to take the bike panniers and tank bag up to Jan's for safe keeping.
The constable seemed genuinely saddened by the news that the theft
had occurred five weeks before as I feel he wanted to impress me with
his detective skills: See how the trail of screws from the hinge
together with leaving the second screw down in the top hinge reveals a
man in his forties with wispy grey hair and a nervous tic around his
left eye...
In fact it was the altogether more pragmatic So,
