A word to the wise. Read all of your application forms before doing more time consuming tasks like getting documents certified. In the small print of an application form I have yet to fill in it says to include certified copies of all of the documents I sent for the preliminary stage. D'oh!
So I'm back at the court. Today, security let people into the building only a couple of minutes after opening hours and I whizz straight through the security checks (having carefully left my penknife in the car). I did notice that the blokey who was wearing an NCP shirt last time did have it covered by a jumper today, but was wearing trainers. Something must be done about standards.
This time I'm directed to Court 2. This seems like a more substantial court room. Well, it has three rows of desks for the prosecution and defence (as opposed to one) and two rows of seats for the public to watch from and a wooden handrail/barrier to stop us rushing the assembled courtiers.
Today has the gas-electric man to get his warrants and two stout ladies who I believe were there for licensing applications. A mere twenty minutes after being directed into the court room things started to happen. The clerk of the court today was a large woman (in start contrast to the prosecutor who should be eating more) who decided that I should be dealt with straight-away. That was very kind but didn't give me any further insights into court life.
