Failed miserably to get up early after [our] 5 hours sleep. The weather is overcast and looks like rain. Maybe we should have gone up the Sky Tower yesterday, after all?
Straight back into Net Club. Despite the fact that we've told him we're semi-regulars now and he knows us we don't get a special rate.
We're back to the micro-brewery for lunch. Had a bit of a shock at the NZ$ 12 meals (NZ$ 2 to US$ 1) but then realised we're well within budget -- car hire will blow that out of the water! We posted our PADI applications off. When faced with two overseas options [postboxes] a helpful woman suggested we try the air mail box, you never know.
Yet more money out of the cashpoint -- at least we can [use a cashpoint] which makes a welcome change. NZ$ have a see-through portion [a little window in the notes] which makes them look a bit funny. More Net Club'ing with the benefit of 1.5l of Vanilla Coke, hmm [not the best flavour]. We skip tea and Helen suggests buying that "Caramel thing" from the counter. Thinking Cadbury's Caramel, I agree. She comes back saying Ooh, that was expensive
(NZ$ 6) I'm not surprised, [it's] a 300g bar of Cadbury's Caramello -- a giant Cadbury's Caramel. A touch sickly!
With a burst of effort, we're done [typing journals up to date]! Well, we could do with checking for typos and I want to upload my pictures but otherwise [we're done]. We go to pay at 1am thinking Hah! We're the big players
[ie. the long termers] Nah, not so, of the twenty plus people currently still in there, three or four of them are on 13 hours. The Chinese rack up 30 hours
he [the proprietor] says. {They are] sleeping, eating at their terminals. We resolve to avoid Net Club tomorrow.
